Jayne Armstrong
width 7 1/8 in
Steel-dyed oak vessel. Created using fresh, green, locally sourced oak wood. Cut with a chainsaw then mounted and turned on a lathe using hand-held gouges before being filled with shavings and left to dry naturally and take her form. Natural undulations and fissures are a result of the drying process and an integral part of the piece. Oil finish. 18 cm at widest point.
