Jayne Armstrong
width 7 1/8 in
Blackened and stitched sculptural oak form. Created using fresh, green, locally sourced oak wood. Cut with a chainsaw then mounted and turned on a lathe using hand-held gouges before being left to dry naturally and take its form. Once dry, the piece was dyed and the central fissure stitched. Natural undulations and fissures are a result of the drying process.
